Status stuck on 'Failed'? Here's how to debug + retry without losing your project.
Documents move through Queued → Processing → Analyzing → Completed. A 'Failed' status means we hit an unrecoverable error.
Common causes
- PDF is password-protected — strip the password and re-upload
- PDF is corrupted (rare; usually means a flaky download) — re-export from your CAD/PDF tool
- OCR couldn't extract any text and vision timed out — try splitting the file by sheet
- Storage upload partially failed — re-upload from the project Documents tab
Retrying
- On the document detail, click 'Reprocess'.
- Watch the new processing job. If it fails again, capture the error message and contact support.
- Support escalation: include the document_id, the failed_task_log entry, and the error string.
